Need to know about staying in Uzbekistan, as a tourist you MUST register almost everynight or risk having to pay up to a grand trying to leave. Normally if you are staying at hotels, hostels or guest houses they will register you and you get a handful of papers to present upon your departure. But if you are couchsurfing or staying with random people you have to register yourself, meaning you have to rock up to a hotel anyway and pay for a night to these little slips to your freedom. Budget travelers beware!
