Aside from the whole of India and maybe Barcelona, I have to say that Sapa for me was one of the most beautiful places in the world to photograph. In the areas around Sapa, you see cascading rice terraces; rich, lime green fields; and the occasional barefooted boy herding buffalo. When I toured the area, I got to visit villages where the Red Dao and Black Hmong live. It was actually really nice because I went with an ex-tour guide who had become friends with some of the tribe members, and they welcomed us into their homes. If you decide not to do it on your own, I do recall the hostel/guest house where we stayed offered packaged tours, so check with your hostel.
