Hostal Panda Lodge, Granada / asian styled hostal near Parque Central

This relatively new Hostal two blocks SE (Calle Morazan) of the Central Park presents itself in a somehow asian style: Bamboo furniture, lamps and Panda pictures on the walls. Free Wifi & Coffee (or tea), kitchen for use, laundry service, 2 dorms (ea 8 beds) and 5 private rooms (2 with own bath) and an always running cable TV.
Prices vary from US$6 for a dorm, US$15 for semi privado and 20 for private with own bath. No Air-con but lots of fans. Prices are negotiable if you stay longer.
As it is quite new all the facilities are in a good condition but be careful with the bamboo beds: you can easily hit yourself painfully. Rooms service seems to be done every three days (depending on the mood of stuff) but in general a good place to stay while enjoying Granada.

This place is hands down the best value for a hostel I have yet seen. It is a bit more expensive though so save it for a time when you´re worn out and want to splurge on something nice. When I stayed there it was $13 for a dorm bed, and $30 for an amazing huge private suite with private bath etc. Beautiful place overall. Great people. Rooms here should go for $70 a night.
Great experience would do it again.

La casita hostel. Good staff, great location, quite and cheap. One draw back! Don't stay in private room #4 here's why. First off it situated between a bathroom and the outside patio area. For some reason it is a little hotter inside even with a fan it still warm air. The window that is to the outside has a screen but no means of keeping the chatting guest voices out or the cigarette smoke. The bathroom window is boarded off but if some one wants a late shower you still hear the noise and a lil light comes in. All things aside I would stay here again on my next visit, just never again in room #4

A couple of doors down from the Bearded Monkey hostel, so thats great as you can party your ass of at the Monkey and crash at La Casita for much cheaper and it will be FAR more quite when you go to bed and wake up... Theres free internet, free coffee, free water, fully equipped kitchen, for a dorm, the beds are BIG and very comfortable!!! Other than that, its a very quite hostel, but the location is perfect and its clean and has hotwater showers.... Dorms $4.....

Its the most popular hostel in Granada for a reason... $6 Dorms and they are very big spacious dorms with very large bunks... Lockers, fans, etc... The Hostel has a restaraunt and bar in the central courtyard area, and serves breakfast thru dinner... There is free internet, coffee, hammocks and tables everywhere. Happy Hour is always good, and almost all the local expats come hang out at the BM in the evenings.... The bathroom/showers are a different story... Not the cleanest, but if you dont mind, then this is a great place... There seems to always be a party here, pretty much every night!!! So dont expect a solid nights sleep.... The hostel is centrally located so everything is close by!!!

So when I need a nice quite hostel to get away from the party, I head here for a few nights... $6 for a bunk, with free breakfast and a fucking good one too!!! Free internet, coffee, kitchen use!!!.... This place is run by the house lady that lives there... Shes nice, and wont bother you... This place is VERY quite... And do NOT do your laundry here!!!! They offer laundry service to the public, and lots of my clothes hanging to dry disappeared....

The most popular hostel in Granada is Oasis ( http://www.nicaraguahostel.com/). This hostel has an extremely comfortable feel despite its large size. It has a nice pool and several free computers with dorm rooms starting at 8$. It also has a day trip / transportation to Laguna de Apoyo (another must-do getaway). Found in a prime location the best way to find it is to use the map on their website and look for the blue signs plastered on street poles. If the Oasis is full the Bearded Monkey ( http://www.thebeardedmonkey.com/) or the Hospedaje Central ( http://www.hosteltrail.com/hospedajecentral/) are cheap and popular alternatives.

I stayed here for new year 20011/12. Little bit more pricey due to the festive season (my $30 only got a roo with shared bathroom). The hostel is beautiful though and if you are looking to experience staying in a beautifully restored and spotlessly clean colonial building this is the place. Watchout is the shared bathrooms - a bit limited in number. There were only a few people staying when I was there so ok but if the dorm was full there would have been some serious bathroom congestion!
