Start at the Parque Cabecera and follow the park around half the city, to the waterfront and keep walking until you hit the Arts and Sciences Museum. Make sure you have a map for when the park ends so you can get to the museum easily. In my opinion this park is the heart of Valencia. It's beautifully maintained, used by literally every kind of person and as you walk you can catch every kind of architecture Valencia has to offer. You'll walk by packed soccer fields, long stretches of grass, a playground that is actually a giant Gulliver (Gulliver's Travels), ponds, museums, fountains, and gardens. Keep walking and you'll hit the waterfront and eventually the Arts and Sciences museum. It's a long walk (9 miles more or less) and will take all day, or longer depending on how many stops you make, but it's just the life of the city. It seems like everyone in Valencia is at the park during lunch and after work on a warm afternoon. Probably one of my favorite days of travel ever.
