Facts about South Korea
Stuff to See and Do
What to Eat
Many of the real Korean restaurants offer extensive free (!) sidedishes (with all kinds of vegetables, kimchi and soups). These dishes are considered as complementary to the main dish you have to order. So don't be scared when right after you sit down at the table the waiter fills the entire table with food you didn't ask for, it's completely normal. When low on cash just order a simple main dish and be sure to appreciate the plentiful side dishes. As a Dutch person used to paying for everything (yes you even have to pay for the water in restaurants in the Netherlands) I'm always quite amazed by this type of service.
