Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico
What to See
This white sand beach is in a cove surrounded by red stone cliffs and an old lighthouse. Come early before parking at the beach fills up and the park officials make you walk 30 minutes to the park. There isn't much shade on this beach so you also want to snag one of the shady spots under the sea grape trees. The sun is blistering hot so bring water, sun block, and even UV protective clothing. I never sun burn or blister but my back was red and blistered after a few hours and after wearing sun block. We hiked to the end of the cove which is opposite of the light house and saw a manatee surfacing and hanging out in the bay.
