From Jaco to Montezuma

A new form a transportation is available between Jaco and Montezuma. It is a boat company that turns the 4 hour drive across the peninsala into a 45 minute boat ride. Any tour operators in either Montezuma or Jaco (or Manuel Antonio) will be able to arrange for you.

What to Avoid

Rip Tides

Rip Tides in Jaco

Went surfing with a couple of buddies (all of us don't really know how to surf, by the way). Paddled out to where the waves were breaking. The rip tide began and we didn't realize it until we were so incredibly far out. We realized it and started to paddle in. It took about 45 minutes to get back in. The rip tides at Jaco beach don't take you straight out, but rather they run at a diagonal or almost parallel to the shore off to the right. Trying to get back was like paddling up a rushing river.
