A local's market <-- no gringos anywhere!

When you get off the bus in Solola, you're at the edge of the market, which, on a Tuesday or Friday, is teeming with vendors. Pick a spot to enter the maze. Here you'll find live chickens, salted fish, leather belts, flowers, loads and loads of Mayan fabrics, cowboy hats, and lots lots more. This is a local's market, so don't expect to see other gringos. It was a fantastic experience. People warned me of thieves, but I was fine bringing my camera and cash. Got some great photos!

Frequent buses and pick-ups between Pana and Solola

From Panajachel, you can catch a bus or pick-up to Solola on Calle Principal, just north of Santander. In my opinion, the pick-up is a far superior option, especially if you stand near the front with the other 10-year-olds. It doesn't matter which transpo you take, expect to pay Q3 pp. You'll be dropped off in front of the park near the market and in walking distance of Pollo Campero.
