Ziplining on Bastimentos - 7 ziplines; 150-ft high; $35 PP

Seven zip lines traverse over the rainforest island hilltops and there's a rope course midway through the tour. The last zipline is free of brakes (you zip until gravity slows you down) so ask the guides to do that one freestyle; they can turn you upside down and spin you. I had so much fun & felt safe the whole time. The guides hooked me up to two cable lines and did a safety check at each platform. The tours begin at 10am and 2pm, and last 2.5 hours. We paid $35 (group of 17). Official price is $55 but you can get a $5 off coupon (or $10 if you're staying at Bocas Bound) that also reimburses you for the water taxi fee from Bocas Town to Isla Bastimentos. www.bastimentossky.com

Get Your Timing Right and Hit a Bocas Bound Hostel Full Moon Party

If you are going to be hitting up Bocas del Toro, check your lunar calendar and see if you can time your trip with a full moon. The good people at Bocas Bound Hostel throw sick full moon and bonfire beach parties on a deserted beach on the island of Bastimentos. From what I understand, their calendar is sporadic at best, so contact them through their website ( http://www.bocasbound.com/) to make sure you don't miss out.
