What to See
Special Places
Before going to the famous Stonehenge, consider Avebury, the largest stone circle. You can walk all around it, there are no fences or admission charges. A village has grown up in and around it. There's even a great pub and a few houses inside it! And in walking distance is Europe's largest earth mound, Silbury Hill. There's a B n B across from it, and you can try and fail to get Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill out of your head.
Getting Around
Train
Depending on how old you are you may be eligible for a railcard! If you're travelling on trains more than once, or over a long distance the discounted fare you're eligible for subsidizes the railcard and it turns out much cheaper overall! You don't have to be a resident to apply for one and it's very easy through any major train station.
Walking
Pack light! A small backpack that will fit in the ryan air carry on will save you heaps in flights around europe, save your back whilst roaming cities and mean that you can spontaeously buy an outfit to suit the country you are travelling! Besides, this is Europe, not Africa and around every second corner you will be able to buy what you need, whether it be dancing shoes or camera batteries.
