Good eats with vegatarian options at Mondays Blues.  Mexician, pizza, swarma, and sandwhichs.  For a beer, 2 burritos that came with a few chips n lil salad  , nacho chips with guacamole for $11 On the corner of calle Luis Cordero and calle larga.  

La Cigale is a very nice hostel in a great location in downtown Cuenca. The accomodation is clean, charming, and simple. What makes this hostel/bar/restaurant spectacular though is its menu. There is a 5-8 happy hour every night, during which yummy mojitos and caipirinhas as well as beer and other cocktails are available for $1.50. The appetizers are also good, but La Cigale's sandwiches are what really stand out. Try the chicken and avocado sandwich, a delicious classic spiced up with a little curry. For a real treat though, the hamburger is nothing short of amazing. Not just a great burger 'for South America,' this burger is worth a mention on anybody's "Best Burgers" list.
