Getting Around

Quito taxis
by Kokko about 8 years ago

During the day it is the law that taxis use the meter. Be sure to insist on meter before driving away. At night time none of the taxis use the meter so be sure to negotiate before getting in.

General Advice

Quito Misunderstood in her Beauty
by Higgy about 9 years ago

Mitad de Mundo (Middle of the earth/equator) and found out after we left that the monument is off by a bit, so find the real equator. -Teleferico is the highest gondola ride in the WORLD and should be done when the skies are clear to view the majestic beauty of Quito and its surrounding cities and volcanos. Near Nu House there is a pub called -Finn McCools a chance to meet people from all over the world. -Cotopaxi, which we drove and hiked up to roughly 19000ft elevation and mountain biked down. All downhill biking was a blast!
-Historic district which is the pride of Quito. "White House" of Ecuador and ended up getting a FREE tour and picture of this awe inspiring building.
