What to Eat
Other
There is a secret place in Lima, that seems to only be open at night, and only if you know the right people. This is not about drugs, I'm talking about a sandwich shop. The sandwich we had there was so amazing that, 6 months on, I'm still talking about it. Here's how to find it: Stay in Point, in the Barranco. Befriend Edwin, the events rep. He takes people from the bar to the club, and you need to go with him. Have fun in the club, but don't lose him. When he leaves,he'll take whoever is with him to the secret sandwich place. It looks closed and you have to crawl through a tiny door to get in; when you've made it, order a chicken sandwich with EVERYTHING. Thank me later.
Getting Around
Taxi
I recommend using Green Taxi. Their stand is located inside the Lima airport - you can't miss it. They have fix prices according to area of town, so no haggling! The prices are reasonable and the taxi company is reputable. We paid 25 soles for a 10 minute drive from the airport to Hotel Vista del Sol. They charge 45 soles to go to Miraflores, which is a 40 minute drive. Keep their business card so you can call to catch a ride back to the airport - I found their rates cheaper than the other taxi drivers in Miraflores. They charge 55 soles for pick up in Miraflores back to the airport.
